What I've seen so far, upto Kleiner's lab, looks nice.One thing though, the Vort's fighting in the streets can kill their opponents. Although not a problem in itself, if the Combine in question is carrying a SMG, then you can pick it up. And because none of the soldiers are in the same squads you can kill them off one by one and no one will lift a finger to stop you.Also, at the end of the roof chase sequence the Combine failed on every occesion to beat me unconcious. I had to repetedly walk into them until I got a white screen and Alyx came along and saved the day.I did notice that you've got level transition working now, and everything seems to flow quite well into one another.It's a great start. Overwatch: as I said,yeah,I have the code to make level transitions work but do need the help of a modder able to customize the output of a changelevel trigger via the console to pass the problem of hubs.

EDIT: maybe it wasn't the vortigaunt that killed the combine,but friendly crossfire!Skater: it's normal to be confused,because a mod like this is surely impossible in the real world.
